Course Entry Requirements

To enroll in our General English courses, prospective students must meet the following requirements:​

  1. Minimum Age: Students must be at least 16 years old at the start of the course.
  2. English Proficiency:
    • — No formal qualification is required for beginner courses.
    • — Intermediate and advanced levels may require evidence of prior English proficiency (such as a recent test result or certificate).
  3. Academic Qualifications: No specific academic qualifications are required; however, completion of secondary education is recommended.
  4. Motivation Statement: A brief personal statement (150-200 words) outlining the student’s purpose for studying English and future goals.
  1. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of £250 is required to secure your place.
  2. Tuition Fees: The tuition fee for the General English course is £3,700 for the entire course duration of 24-32 weeks, depending on the chosen course level and schedule.
  3. Additional Costs:
    • — Course Materials: Students should budget approximately £50-£100 for textbooks and learning resources.
    • — Examination Fees (if applicable): Exam fees vary based on the level and type of examination.
  4. Payment Methods: Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit/debit card, or online payment portals.
  1. Visa Refusal:
    • — If a student’s visa application is refused, a full refund of tuition fees will be provided. To claim this refund, students must submit a copy of the official visa refusal letter.
    • — The £250 application fee is non-refundable in this case.
  1. Withdrawals After Course Start:
    • — No refunds will be provided for withdrawals once the course has started, except in exceptional cases (e.g., serious medical issues), subject to college approval and supporting documentation.
  2. Course Cancellations by College:
    • — If Imperial College of Excellence cancels a course, students are eligible for a full refund of all tuition fees paid.
  3. Refund Request Process: Refund requests must be submitted in writing with relevant supporting documents to the admissions office. The processing time for refunds is up to 30 days from the date of request.

At enrolment, students are required to present the following documents:

  1. Completed Application Form: Ensure all sections are accurately completed.
  2. Valid Passport: A copy of the passport ID page for international students.
  3. Proof of English Proficiency (if applicable): Recent English language test results or certificates.
  4. Academic Records: Certificates or transcripts of any completed secondary or post-secondary education.
  5. Personal Statement: A brief statement outlining your motivation for studying English.
  6. Proof of Financial Support: Bank statement or financial guarantee demonstrating sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses for the course duration.
